Typen
Holotypus: WAM P.27829-015 .
Typusfundort: Kleiner Süßwasserbach, 1,5 Kilometer südöstlich von Lorengau (Karte), Manus Island, Admiralitätsinseln, Papua-Neuguinea.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des Ichthyologen Douglass Fielding Hoese (geb. 1942), Australisches Museum (Sydney), für seine Beiträge zur Systematik der Gobioiden und seine Ermutigung während der Überarbeitung der Gattung durch Watson.
