Vermutlich ein lokaler bengalischer Name für diese Art in Indien.

Ganga-Brahmaputra-Becken (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indien, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesch und Myanmar).

Gefahren für diese Art: Die Bedrohungen für diese Art sind unbekannt, da es nur wenige Informationen über ihre Biologie gibt und daher die Auswirkungen potenzieller Bedrohungen (insbesondere anthropogener Art) unbekannt bleiben. Auch die aktuellen Bedrohungen für die aquatische Biodiversität in allen bekannten Verbreitungsgebieten sind nicht ausreichend ermittelt worden.
