Etymologie
Ruber (= rot); striata (= gestreift), bezieht sich auf neun breite, rote Längsstreifen auf dem silbrigen Körper. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Süd-Zentral-Neuguinea, Arafura-See und Torres-Straße: zwischen dem Aramia River (in der Nähe des Fly Rivers) in Papua-Neuguinea und der Etna-Bucht in Zentral-Irian Jaya, Indonesien, sowie den Aru-Inseln in der Arafura-See und der Daru-Insel in der Torres-Straße.

Status: Stand 14.4.2024:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Innerhalb des Verbreitungsgebiets dieser Art gibt es lokale Bedrohungen, aber keine größeren Bedrohungen für die Population insgesamt.
