Etymologie
Poicilus (= fleckig oder bunt); soma (= Körper), bezieht sich auf unregelmäßige dunkelbraune Flecken auf dem grünlichen Körper. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Weit verbreitet in Westindonesien, Malaysia, Singapur, Brunei, Thailand, Kambodscha, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hongkong, den Philippinen und Südjapan; westlich der Lydekkers Linie.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 9.05.2021:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es liegen keine Informationen zu Bedrohungen für diese Art vor. Der Abbau und der Verlust seiner Küsten- und Mangrovenlebensräume sind potenzielle Bedrohungen für diese Art, obwohl sie in marginalen Lebensräumen zu gedeihen scheint.
