Etymologie
Strigata (= gestreift), bezieht sich vermutlich auf vier schwärzliche Bänder, die strahlenförmig von der Mitte des konvexen Randes des Thorax ausgehen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Amazonas- und Orinoko-Einzugsgebiete (Brasilien, Ecuador, Bolivien, Kolumbien, Guyana, Peru und Surinam).
