Etymologie
Uni- (= ein), vermutlich in Anlehnung an seine einheitliche gelbbraune Körperfärbung. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Indien bis China: Mangroven und Ästuarlebensräume; scheint in großen Flüssen und Bächen im vietnamesischen Mekong-System verbreitet zu sein; aus dem Mittelmeer berichtet, wahrscheinlich mit Hilfe von Ballastwasser von Schiffen eingeschleppt.
