Benannt nach dem französischen Botaniker und Zoologen Louis Antoine François Baillon (1778–1851).
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer, Ostafrika, Seychellen, Madagaskar und Maskarenen östlich der nördlichen Line- und Gambier-Inseln, nördlich bis zum südlichen Japan und Korea und südlich bis Australien, Lord Howe, Norfolk Island, Tonga und Rapa.

Status: Stand 10.08.2019:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es sind keine größeren Bedrohungen für diese Art bekannt, diese Art hat nur eine untergeordnete kommerzielle Bedeutung, es wurden keine Rückgänge der Population infolge von Ausbeutungsereignissen beobachtet oder vermutet.
