Etymologie
Fundicola (von fundus = Boden); colo (= bewohnen), bezeiht sich darauf dass das Typusexemplar vom sandigen Boden in einer Tiefe von 73-146 m gesammelt wurde. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Nordwestpazifik: vor den Pazifikküsten der Präfektur Miyagi bis zur Tosa-Bucht; Japanisches Meer: von Aomori bis zur Präfektur Yamaguchi, Okinawa-Trog; Südliches Meer von Korea; Ostchinesisches Meer und Gelbes Meer.
