Nordamerika: Wasserläufe zum Atlantik, Kanada und USA; anderswo eingeführt.

Gefahren für diese Art: Es mag lokale Bedrohungen geben, aber für das gesamte Verbreitungsgebiet sind keine größeren Bedrohungen bekannt.
