Etymologie
Patronym nicht identifiziert, wahrscheinlich zu Ehren des Chirurgen und Naturforschers John Richardson (1787-1865), den Gray an anderer Stelle als die führende Autorität für Fische in Großbritannien bezeichnet hatte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Himalaya: Nepal, China, Bhutan, Indien und Pakistan.

Status: Stand 30.9.2022:VU Vulnerable (gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Die Einführung exotischer Salmoniden in Bergbäche und Stauseen der Himalaya-Ausläufer ist eine ernsthafte Bedrohung. Die Fischerei zu Zierzwecken ist eine Bedrohung in Nagaland und die Fischerei zu Nahrungszwecken ist eine allgemeine Bedrohung in Nordostindien.
