Etymologie
Chrysea (= golden), vermutlich in Anlehnung an die "gelbliche" Färbung. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Indien: Mahanadi Fluss und Nebenflüsse.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 15.9.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Da dieser Fisch in großen Mengen geerntet wird (Nair et al. 1981, Talwar und Jhingran 1991), könnte die starke Befischung eine mögliche Bedrohung für diese Art darstellen.
