Etymologie
Eos (= Morgendämmerung oder Osten), in Bezug auf die Verbreitung dieser Art.
Verbreitung
Endemisch in Ostaustralien; bekannt aus dem südlichen Queensland (bis Agnes Water), New South Wales, Victoria und Tasmanien. Hybride Individuen, an denen diese Art mit Pseudogobius olorum beteiligt ist, kommen im äußersten Südwesten von Victoria, im Südosten von Südaustralien und im Nordwesten von Tasmanien vor.
