Etymologie
Chrysos (= Gold); ophrys (= Augenbraue), beschrieben als "goldgelb". (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer; Indo-Westpazifik: Ostafrika, Sokotra, Persischer Golf, Seychellen, Madagaskar und westliche Maskarenen, östlich bis zu den Philippinen und Fidschi, nördlich bis zum südlichen Japanischen Meer, südlich bis zum Exmouth-Golf (Westaustralien) und Neukaledonien.

Status: Stand 301.1.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Diese Art wird in Teilen ihres Verbreitungsgebiets als Beifang gefangen; bisher wurde jedoch kein Rückgang der Population infolge der kommerziellen Befischung beobachtet oder vermutet. Andere größere Bedrohungen sind nicht bekannt.
