Benannt zu Ehren des Botanikers und Entdeckers Charles Paulus Bélanger (1805-1881), der auch die Typusexemplar sammelte. (Übersetzt aus The ETYFish Project)

Manipur, Indien und Myanmar.

Status: Stand 3.03.2017: potentiell gefährdet
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Das Aussterben dieser Art in Manipur war auf den Bau von Dämmen, Lebensraumabbau und Einführung invasiver Arten, zurückzuführen, die eine Zersplitterung verursacht haben. Bedrohungen für diese Art in Myanmar sind unbekannt.
