Etymologie

Von oreos (= Berg) und nekton (= Schwimmer), bezieht sich auf die Typuslokalität von O. platycephalus aus der Nähe des Gipfels der Hong Kong Mountains, China, 15.000 Fuss über dem Meeresspiegel. (Übersetzt aus The ETYFish Project)
