Asien: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indien, Bangladesch, Myanmar und Bhutan.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 12.02.2019:NT Near Threatened (potenziell gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Die Überfischung dieser Art als Lebensmittel ist eine große Bedrohung und hat zu einem Populationsrückgang geführt (Mishra et al. 2009). Die Auswirkungen anderer potenzieller anthropogener Bedrohungen wie Lebensraumzerstörung und Konkurrenz mit gebietsfremden Arten müssen weiter untersucht werden.
