Holotypus: FMNH 57865 [ex CM 6848a].
Paratypen: (über 30) CAS 59727 [ex IU 14106, CM 6849] (6); CAS-SU 17521 [von FMNH 57866, von CM 6849] (2); FMNH 57866 (28, jetzt 26).
Typusfundort: Bebedouro, in der Nähe von Rio Grande und Rio Paraná, Brasilien.
Etymologie
Von stenos (= schmal); odon (= Zahn), bezieht sich auf schmale prämaxillare Zähne. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Paraná-Einzugsgebiet: Brasilien, Bolivien und Paraguay.
