Etymologie
Depressus (= zusammengedrückt); frons (= Stirn), bezieht sich auf den "beträchtlich zusammengedrückten" Kopf, "das Profil erhebt sich in einem Winkel von nur fünfundzwanzig Grad zum Beginn des Rückens". (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Indo-Westpazifik: Indonesien, Neuguinea und die Philippinen. Die Berichte aus Japan sind fehlerhaft.
