Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von General Richard Strachey (1817–1908), britischer Soldat und indischer Verwalter, für seine Hilfe um Day zu ermöglichen, „[seine] Ermittlungen in Bezug auf die Fische und die Fischerei Indiens zu verfolgen“. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Myanmar bis Vietnam.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 1.12.2018:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Es ist ein Angelfisch mit Nahrungswert und daher ist seine Population anfällig für Überfischung. Sie kann durch Zerstörung des Lebensraums durch menschliche Störungen beeinträchtigt werden.
