Etymologie
Vermutlich abgeleitet von grypos (= gr. für "gekrümmt" oder "hakennasig"), was sich auf eine "von den Nasenlöchern nach unten gebogene Schnauze" bezieht. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Westpazifik: China und Taiwan bis Korea.
