Etymologie
Histrio (= Harlekin), vermutlich in Anlehnung an die Querstreifen auf dem Körper, die so breit wie das Auge sind. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Östlicher Pazifik: Golf von Kalifornien.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 5.05.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Für diese Art, deren Verbreitungsgebiet begrenzt ist, sind keine größeren Bedrohungen bekannt. In einigen Gebieten kann es jedoch zu lokalen Bedrohungen durch die Erschließung der Küstengebiete für den Tourismus und die Stadtentwicklung kommen.
