Etymologie
Acicularis (= nadelartig), bezogen auf den länglichen erste Rückenflossenstachel, der charakteristisch für diese Art ist. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Westpazifik: Indonesien, Papua-Neuguinea bis zu den Salomonen, Palau und Australien.
