Etymologie

Etymologie nicht erklärt, vielleicht von favonius (= Westwind), bezogen auf die Typuslokalität von Favonigobius lateralis (der Typusart) in Westaustralien; gobius (= Grundel). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
