Typusfundort: 1°37.300'S, 138°43.395'E (Karte), Pulau Liki West, nördliches Neuguinea, 30 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Oculi (= Auge); linea (= Streifen), bezieht sich auf den Striefn durch das Auge, das diese Art von Eviota cometa unterscheidet.
Verbreitung
Derzeit nur von Neuguinea und den Salomonen bekannt, kommt aber wahrscheinlich in Fidschi und in der Bandasee, Indonesien und im Great Barrier Reef, Australien vor, basierend auf Lebendfotos sowie Exemplaren, die zuvor als Eviota cometa identifiziert wurden und 8/7 Strahlen in den Rücken-/Analflossen besitzen.
