Typusfundort: Mündung eines Zufflusses zum Moawhango River, 2–3 Meilen nördlich von Moawhango, North Island, Neuseeland, 33°33.7457'S, 175°51.6488'E (sic!) korrigiert zu: 39°33.7457'S, 175°51.6488'E (Karte).
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Dinah Arndt in Anerkennung ihrer unermüdlichen Unterstützung der Süßwasserfischforschung und Feldarbeit in Australien und Neuseeland.
Verbreitung
Neuseeland: südliche Nordinsel, Weit verbreitet im Hochland südlich der Taupo Vulkanzone im Zentrum der Insel.
