Etymologie
Leptos (= dünn oder schlank); cephalus (= Kopf), bezieht sich auf den viel schmaleren Kopf im Vergleich zu Cryptocentrus diproctotaenia und Cryptocentrus liolepis, die im selben Artikel beschrieben werden. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Westpazifik: Indonesien östlich bis zu den Philippinen und Tonga, nördlich bis zu den Yaeyama-Inseln, südlich bis Nordaustralien und Neukaledonien.

Status: Stand 7.11.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Diese Art wird gelegentlich für die kommerzielle Nutzung im Aquarienfischhandel gesammelt, aber der Umfang der Entnahme ist unbekannt.
