Etymologie
Nitida (= elegant), Anspielung nicht erklärt, vielleicht auf die Färbung bezogen, mit dunkler diagonaler Linie vom Auge bis zum hinteren Ende der Rückenflosse und gelblich-brauner Rückenfläche.
Verbreitung
Beschränkt auf Ostaustralien, einschließlich Lord Howe Island, kommt hauptsächlich am Great Barrier Reef vor, von seiner nördlichsten Ausdehnung östlich der Torres Strait südwärts bis zur Capricorn/Bunker Group, vor Gladstone, Queensland.
