Verbreitung
Der Ursprung des Taxons Chelonodontops leopardus ist unklar; es scheint auf einem von Francis Day Ende 1878 aus Madras in Indien gesammelten Exemplar zu beruhen. Dieses Exemplar befindet sich derzeit im Australischen Museum unter dem Namen Tetrodon leopardus (nach Ferraris et al. 2000). Ländervorkommen: Indien; Sri Lanka.
