Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren Ihrer Majestät Rambai Barni (1904-1984), der ehemaligen Königin von Siam; ein Aquarell, das mehrere lebensgroße Darstellungen dieser Grundel in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum zeigt, wurde ihrer Majestät 1934 geschenkt. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapur, Indonesien und Papua-Neuguinea.

Status: Stand 18.2.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es liegen keine Informationen über die Bedrohung der Art vor. Der offensichtliche Verlust der Bangkok-Population deutet darauf hin, dass die Art der Entwicklung und der Zerstörung ihres Lebensraums nicht standhalten kann.
