Etymologie

Etymologie nicht erklärt, vielleicht ein Bezug zu Mugil, eine Gattung von Meeräschen, wegen des breiten und wohl meerbarbenartigen Kopfes von Mugilogobius abei (den Smitt 1903 in einem Brief an David Starr Jordan als Typusart nannte). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
