Etymologie
Stigmatos (= markiert); pora (= Pore), aber wahrscheinlich ein Druckfehler für phora (= tragen), bezieht sich auf die „große Anzahl runder schwarzer Punkte auf der dorsalen Seite“ von Stigmatopora argus (Kaup (1856) versuchte, die Rechtschreibung auf „Stigmatophora“ zu ändern, aber die ursprüngliche Rechtschreibung steht.)
