Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des niederländischen Ichthyologen Marinus Boeseman (1916-2006), Universität Leiden (Niederlande), ohne den Ishihara die Probleme in der Systematik der japanischen Raja nicht erkannt hätte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Nordwestlicher und westlicher Pazifik.
