Etymologie
Okame (= japanische Bezeichnung für ein "Weibchen mit niedriger Nase"), vorgeschlagen als Untergattung von Raja, die sich unter anderem durch eine "relativ kürzere Schnauze" unterscheidet; jei (= japanisch für Rochen). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
