Typusfundort: Bäche Thoubal und Sikmai, südliche Wasserscheide der Naga Hills, Indien.

Irrawaddy-Becken, Indien und Nepal.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 29.08.2018: VU Vulnerable (gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Die Standorte, an denen die Fische vorkommen, sind durch Entwaldung, Waschmittelverschmutzung durch Waschmaschinen und Pestizidbelastung aus den angrenzenden Reisfeldern bedroht. Die Typuslokalität ist heute eine große Gemeinde.
