Etymologie
-ella, eine Verkleinerung, die sich auf die frühere Platzierung von Sternarchella schotti in der Gattung Sternarchus (= Apteronotus) bezieht, die sich durch ihre "viel kürzere" Schnauze und ein "sehr viel kleineres" Maul auszeichnet. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
