Etymologie

Benannt nach der Typuslokalität: von Katanga, jetzt Shaba genannt, Zaire (jetzt Demokratische Republik Kongo). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Weit verbreitet im südlichen Afrika, in Flüssen und Seen der südlichen Demokratischen Republik Kongo, Angola, Botswana, Sambia, Simbabwe, Malawi, Mosambik, Südafrika und Namibia.
