Etymologie
Diaphana (= transparent), im Lebendzustand als „weitgehend durchscheinend“ beschrieben (in Alkohol relativ undurchsichtig). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Südflorida, hauptsächlich im Dade County, den Keys und den Tortugas; im Golf von Mexiko vor Mexiko bildet die Art eine separate Population.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 13.1.2021:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es sind keine größeren Bedrohungen für Emblemariopsis diaphana bekannt. Obwohl es in den Florida Keys zahlreiche Bedrohungen für Entwicklung und Umweltverschmutzung gibt, wird davon ausgegangen, dass diese diese Art nicht beeinträchtigen. Diese Art ist nicht von lebenden Korallenriffen abhängig, so dass der Verlust der lebenden Korallenbedeckung im Golf die Populationsentwicklung wahrscheinlich nicht wesentlich beeinflusst. Arten der Familie Chaenopsidae wurden bisher selten als Bestandteil der Rotfeuerfischernährung beobachtet, so dass E. diaphana wahrscheinlich nicht sehr anfällig für diesen Raubfisch ist.
