Etymologie
Benannt nach den Bahamas, der Typuslokalität.
Verbreitung
Westatlantik: Südost-Florida (USA), Bahamas bis zu den Kleinen Antillen und Mittelamerika. Auch in der westlichen Karibik und der südamerikanische Küste.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 13.1.2021:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es sind keine größeren Bedrohungen für Emblemariopsis bahamensis bekannt. Die Art ist nicht abhängig von lebenden Korallenriffen, so dass der Verlust der lebenden Korallenbedeckung die Popultionsentwicklung wahrscheinlich nicht wesentlich beeinflusst. In der Karibik wurden Arten der Familie Chaenopsidae bisher selten als Bestandteil der Beute von Rotfeuerfischen beobachtet, so dass E. bahamensis wahrscheinlich nicht sehr anfällig für diesen Raubfisch ist.
