Etymologie
Rhipido- (= Fächer oder fächerartig); dorsalis (= Rückenflosse), Anspielung unklar; Laut Okamura bezieht sich der Name auf „erste schwarz und weiß gefärbte Rückenflosse“ (vielleicht ähnlich einem japanischen Faltfächer?). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
