Typusfundort: Solomonensee, Papua-Neuguinea, Provinz West-New-Britain, vor der südwestlichen Küste von New Britain, 6°06.08'S, 149°12.209'E - 6°07.639'S, 149°12.107'E (Karte), 315-625 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Das lateinische Wort brunneus bedeutet Braun; Der Name bezieht sich auf die allgemeine braune Färbung der Art und insbesondere auf ihre braunen Brustflossenmembranen.
Verbreitung
Papua-Neuguinea (New Britain), Philippinen, Indonesien. Gefunden auf Weichböden des unteren Kontinentalschelfs; bekannter Tiefenbereich 315-625 m.
