Etymologie

Verbreitung
Ostatlantik: Azoren, Madeira, die Kanarischen Inseln, Kap Verde und St. Helena. Westatlantik: Westindische Inseln, Saba Bank, Leeward Islands, vor der Nordküste Kubas und westlich der Bahamas. Berichten zufolge an der Nordküste Südamerikas vorgekommen.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 13.03.2019:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Es gibt keine bekannten artenspezifischen Bedrohungen für P. nobilis. Die Art wurde in einer kleinen Grundfischerei vor den Inseln Gran Canaria und El Hierro (Kanarische Inseln) gefangen und wurde als Beifang mitgenommen (Matos-Caraballo et al. 2005).
