Typusfundort: Golf von Venezuela, vor Punta Capana, Halbinsel Paraguana, 12°N, 70°W, Bundesstaat Falcon, Venezuela, drei Seemeilen vor der Küste, sechs Faden Tiefe.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des verstorbenen Dr. Don E. McAllister, ehemals National Museum of Natural History, Ottawa, Kanada.
Verbreitung
Karibikküste Südamerikas von Cartagena, Kolumbien bis zum Golf von Venezuela. Wurde auch in der Dominikanischen Republik gefunden und es gibt einen Datensatz aus der Kanalzone, Limon Bay, Panama.
