Etymologie
Fasciatum (= gestreift), bezogen auf die Zebra-ähnlichen, vertikalen Balken, die an Jungtieren zu sehen sind. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Red Sea, Indo-West Pacific: East Africa, South Africa, Madagascar and Mauritius (Mascarenes) east to Marshall Islands and Samoa, north to southern Japan, south to Western Australia, New South Wales (Australia) and New Caledonia.
