Etymologie
Albus (= lat. weiß); marginatus (= lat. gesäumt), in Bezug auf die weißen Flossenspitzen.
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer; Indo-Pazifik: KwaZulu-Natal (Südafrika), Ostafrika, Seychellen, Komoren, Madagaskar und Maskarenen östlich bis zu den Hawaii-Inseln (USA), nördlich bis Südjapan und Ogasawara-Inseln, südlich bis Nordaustralien, Neukaledonien und Tuamotu-Archipel; Ostpazifik: Pazifikküste der südlichen Baja California Sur (Mexiko) südlich bis Ecuador, einschließlich Golf von Kalifornien (Mexiko), Clipperton Island (Frankreich), Cocos Island (Costa Rica), Malpelo Island (Kolumbien) und Galapagos Islands (Ecuador).
