Etymologie
En (= in); tomeus (= Messer oder Schneide); odous (= Zahn) bezieht sich nach Jordan & Evermann (1898) vermutlich auf den sehr großen und zurückgebogenen Zahn auf jeder Seite des inneren Unterkiefers von Entomacrodus nigricans und/oder auf seine "stark entwickelten" Eckzähne.
