Etymologie
Politus (= poliert), Anspielung nicht erklärt, vermutlich bezogen auf die Haut, „sehr glatt im Griff“ und/oder „glänzende“ rotbraune Farbe „nach langer Mazeration in Spirituosen“. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
