Etymologie
Latinisierung von Anei, von Anei Katalei, seinem malayamischen Namen in Indien [oft zu sehen als "aena" von denen, die fälschlicherweise glauben, der Name sei ein Adjektiv].
Verbreitung
Indo-West-Pazifik: Persischer Golf östlich bis zu den Philippinen, nördlich bis Nordvietnam und Südchina.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 28.4.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Diese Art wird in einigen Teilen ihres Verbreitungsgebiets kommerziell genutzt und wird auch als Beifang in China gefangen. Im Golf von Thailand ist sie überfischt, und in einigen Gebieten ist es aufgrund der Verstädterung zu einer Verschlechterung der Küstenbedingungen gekommen. Es wird angenommen, dass die Durchschnittsgröße der gefangenen Fische abnimmt.
