Typusfundort: Río Manipitare (Río Siapa drainage), from about 5-8 kilometers upstream from confluence with Río Siapa, Depto Río Negro, Estado Amazonas, Venezuela.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Leo Nico, Forschungsbiologe, U.S. Geological Survey, der die meisten bekannten Typusexemplare sammelte.
Verbreitung
Oberes Rio Negro Becken, einschließlich dem Becken des Canal Casiquiare, Venezuela und im braslianischen Amazonas.
