Etymologie

Aureum (= Gold), bezogen auf die olive Färbung und die von „glänzendem Gold“. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Amazonas Becken, im unterer Teil der Nebenflüsse des unteren Amazonas. Auch in Flüssen von Guyana.
