Etymologie
Der Artname fayollarum ist der Genitiv eines latinisierten Namens Fayolles, Feen aus der Folklore der Auvergne, im Quellgebiet des Loire-Einzuges. Fayolles sind Feen, die Quellwasser erzeugen, und wir schulden einer von ihnen, genannt "Grande Fayolle", das Thermalwasser von Vichy.
Verbreitung
Frankreich: endemisch sowohl im Loire-Einzug als auch im Einzugsgebiet des Sèvre Niortaise. Sie wurde in die Einzugsgebiete von Garonne und Rhône eingeführt, beispielsweise im Fluss Boralde de Flaujac und im Fluss Chassezac in Grevieres.
